Golden Age Hen

I walk my dog Penny Lane twice a day and pass a lot of homes with hen houses.  These back yard chicken runs have become more and more popular around here.   This particular painting was inspired by the colors of the hens that stood out the most and a sort of merger with 18th century commissioned portraits by the wealthy.  I pictured a wealthy chicken family commissioning a portrait of their matriarch to hang in the library with other family members, capturing her for posterity.    Signed and numbered 10" x 12" print in 11' X 14" matte.
